This October, local bluegrass music fans will have the opportunity to see an up-and-coming band that many may recognize from a well-known TV show.

Among numerous honors, awards and accolades, the band appeared in a season 12 episode of “America’s Got Talent.” Despite being eliminated from the competition, the band has remained busy with bookings throughout the country.

“This band’s stock is rising fast; performing from Maine to California and now in demand at all the big festivals,” said bluegrass promoter J.T. Shealy. “They are progressing at a very rapid pace.”

The band includes Trustin Baker, 19, on fiddle; Carina Baker, 17, on mandolin; Elijah Baker, 15, on upright bass; mother Carrie Baker on guitar and Joey Shann on banjo and dobro.

In addition to playing instruments, all of the Baker children sing lead vocals and harmony. Carina also dances the jig.
